ORTHO12, I hope it all works out for you. I'm still debating whether I want to do a second surgery. My cant is mostly noticed by me. Unless I tell someone, they probably would not notice on their own. But yes, SRS has a good point. I'm sure many people are unhappy with the results and have to re-sur...

ORTHO12, I would be very upset too if they changed the plan WHILE they were doing your surgery. In retrospect, I wish that I had asked more questions to the oral surgeons and have them show me what they were going to do with models or at least explain the plan in more detail. My surgeons told me wha...

Hokie Tay, No, it's not swelling. I'm almost 10 months post-op. The XRAY's show that I have a cant (slanted/uneven jaws) and it was not like that before the surgery. Yes, I do tend to be critical but going through the surgery I was thinking they would even everything out, not make things MORE uneven...

shooter75, I am in a similiar situation and understand your situation. I too had double jaw surgery in Febrary of this year. Initially it was just going to be a BSSO (lower jaw) and the week prior to the surgery they told me they wanted to do both jaws. The reason for the top jaw surgery was because...

Jane, I read your initial posts and my heart went out to you and your daughter. I am very happy and relived for you and your daughter. I know you're relieved because it's hard when a loved one is suffering. I'm glad everything is done and that your daughter looks beautiful! I agree about what you sa...

Reply to nose job
Starteeth, Phil, I am 3 weeks post op and my nose turns more to the left. I never heard of a nasal septum but when I read about it thought maybe this is what I have. The cartiledge on the tip of my nose goes more to the left. It's not real crooked but more noticeable than prior to the surgery. I am ...

Wider - Swollen Nose
OzzysMom, Thanks. I like the way you put that. I'm 2 weeks post op and I noticed that my nose has changed a little bit too. I think it's still swollen by the nose and cheek area. Everything is still very tight. Though I hope everythig looks more normal in time. Right now I'm still getting used to th...

Lip numbness and crooked smile
Karl,
I felt relieved once I saw your post on lips/numbness and uneven smile. I'm two weeks post op and the left side of my lips are still numb. When I smils, it's crooked. I thought, gee, all this for a crooked smile. I feel better now. I guess it all takes time.

RPE and Facial Changes
Braceless, When the Ortho/Oral Surgeons told me I had to get a SARPE, I didn't really think about facial changes. They didn't mention facial changes but it only makes sense that if they expand your jaw, it will change your face a little. It's not a bad thing. In fact, the changes are very subtle but...

Cheekbones and Temple
Candygrrl, I have a similar situation with my cheekbones and my temples. I noticed that my temple are a little hollow and my cheekbones are more pronounced. Did yours ever settle once the swelling went down? I was just wondering. It takes some getting used to and no one told me about that either. Ca...
