my upper bite plate (been on for 3 months) preceeds my upper braces. Its removable and i now cant talk without it, i have no lisp and hardly notice it now. And it appears to be working somewhat. I'm due to have it for 6 months more to fix my deep bite. My lower teeth would 'bite' into the roof of my...

I'm borderline jaw surgery. My current treatment plan has two outcomes. If my bite plate works and brings my bite together well I will just have brces on the top and bottom and remove 1 tooth to allign the teeth together. If my bite can't be fixed with the bite plate 9 months in they will diverge my...

2 Months in, Adjustment tomorrow.... Just bent Archwire!!!
I was talking on the phone and wasnt concentrating on eating and now (just 10 mins ago) I've bent the archwire between the back two teeth down... so its a kinda U shape. The archwire is stil looked into the brackets but has been bent out of shape downwards. I don't think this will be too bad as I've...

Altho they are pretty cool about my treatment, my archwire came out of back bracket and they had me in next day ...

My bite plate is of this type http://www.rivoliortho.com/images/Rivoli-041_6.jpg Basically its a removable retainer that causes my lower front teeth to bite into it instead of my gums. I have a deep overbite, and for reasons the rest have stated it 'supposedly' helps the back teeth grow. I have had ...

your situation sounds familiar to mine: When i bit down i would bite into the gum material of my upper mouth. Supposedly my back teeth were 'still in the gums' or at least more than my front teeth. Got to wear the bite plate for 9 months or so until the bites corrected and then i get brace on my upp...

One Month and not much movemement?
After reading the board a little im under the impression the first 2 months are the time when most movemenet occurs and the months following it are when the teeth are 'set' in place... i may be totally off here but im starting to get a little paranoid. My teeth haven't appeared to move at all really...

Way i see it is that your getting the braces fitted to better yourself. If you are getting braces you arent comfortable with your teeth to begin with (at least i wasn't) so it doesn't matter because i'd be embarrassed without braces just the same, at least now it shows i've taken steps to correct my...
