Oh Lordy!!! I had a dream last night. I kept looking in the mirror and my 2 front teeth had changed colour and were lobsided. I too used to have the dream where my teeth fell out, but since I had a brace fitted that all stopped, untill last night. What a relief when i checked in the mirror th...

Hi Ravishing. I got my brace off around the same time as you, though I had a permanent bonded reatainer fitted to my top 6 teeth. I have noticed though over the last week a tiny gap where I had my premolars extracted on both sides (which are not bonded) This isn't bothering me, though I am due for a...

Ahhhhhhhh Not 1 but 2 !!!!!
Hi all, just had to post to vent my frustration, and maybe get a bit of advice. I've been braced (uppers only) for just over 11 months and I'm on the final tweeking stage (only a couple to go my ortho told me). I went for a "tweek" on the 11th July in the morning, when I got home things ju...

Hi Elpi, another Brit here!! Ive been braced for 6 months now and the movement has been fast. It is quite daunting being an adult in braces, but after a few months (especially when you can see changes) you'll know that you've made the right choice. Iv'e posted a couple of pics so that you can see th...

4th adjustment
Hi all Just had my 4th adjustment on the 10th December. This time the ortho didn't change the wire, instead he put an additional elastic band type thing on, which hooks over each bracket and covers the wire. This is going to close my Madonna Gap between my front teeth with has developed since treatm...

Hi Guys :-1 My ortho gave he hard wax which came in a thin rectangle which was as much use as a chocolate fire guard. There is a site in the uk www.orthoshop.co.uk which sells brace gard which is more of a silicon than wax, which I have found to be the best for me. Hope this helps Thanks - Traceymay

It is quite an art form learning to floss again with braces, but as kk says its one of the best ways to remove bacteria from the gum line. Its taken me nearly 3 months to get a good routine going since being braced, but I know it's the best way to care for my teeth. Also spending sooooo much money o...

Hi there. Just read your post. If you can't get a NHS dentist (which I know is very difficult) You could join a Dentist that runs a dental plan. Mine costs £9.90 per month and covers me for 2 visits per year and 2 Hygienist visits. Any treatment required is carried out at a discount. It might be wo...

Traceymays story so far 12 weeks in "Pics"
Hi all :-1 Traceymay here. I'm 37 years old and have been unhappy with my teeth ever since my wisdom teeth came through about 9 years ago  They shoved all my upper front teeth forward and made them cross over. I finally made the decision back in April 2007 after speaking to my dentist to take t...
