Thanks Denise and bracedagain. Tried calling my ortho again yesterday (Friday) but he was "on the other line" and the receptionist said she would get him to call me back -but he didn't! Grrrrrrr, guess he is too busy! It would have been good to talk to him before the holidays, I'll have to...

Thank you for the replies and reassurance everyone. I have experienced the "spongy" feeling too during the first week, but that seems to have eased off now. I think the tooth I'm concerned about is beyond spongy though because I can actually make it move! Tried calling my ortho yesterday t...

Thanks for the reply Mottsrods. The strange thing is that the teeth on either side of the loose tooth both feel very secure, almost "tight" as you mentioned in your post. I know that I have a couple of lower teeth with shorter roots (can't remember which) caused by my first round of braces...

Have you had wobbly teeth when braced?

So, I've had my braces for two weeks now and have had a few teeth "clicking" and feeling a bit loose. I seem to remember this from the first time I had braces so have not been too worried. However, for the past five days both of my lower second pre molars (bicuspids) have been rather wobbl...

Bluebell, you poor thing! I had my braces fitted yesterday, although have nothing behind my teeth. My teeth are hurting now and the braces feel horribly huge, but it sounds worse for you at the moment. I really hope you feel better soon and are able to eat. Try to hang in there as I'm sure you're mo...

Thank you KK, you always seem to post such helpful and poisitve responses. Fingers crossed that I will be pain free too, just like you! So glad to hear you have not suffered with pain so far. I guess I'm just expecting it again because of my past braces experience which made my teeth very sore a few...

Thank you for the replies everyone, you have made me feel a lot better. It is so reassuring to be able to talk to people who understand. Braces on now!!! Told my ortho I was nervous today and he immediatley knew why and said he wouldn't treat me if he thought it would be a problem. Can feel a lot of...

My treatment is costing £2600 for ceramic uppers and metal lowers. I am paying around £800 up front and then the rest in interest free installments for 13 months. Although I have saved up for this, I feel guilty about spending so much money on my teeth as I am doing it for cosmetic reasons, and fo...

Getting braced for 2nd time tomorrow, feeling worried!

Lisp when invisalign is taken out?

Hi there,

I am considering getting invisalign and am aware that it will affect my speech if I do. Just wondering if you still have a lisp when you are not wearing aligners or when you have finished treatment?
