Got my retainer a week ago and i'm still trying to get used to them - have to wear them 24/7 for 3 months although Orthondontist said I could take them out on Christmas Day (how kind!)

Just back from Orthodontist,got my retainer - I'm mortified talking with the retainer in, it will take a while to get used to I reckon.
Have to wear it for 6 weeks 24/7 and then evening/night after that.

Wohoo got my braces off - it feels weird but getting used to a brace free mouth.
Getting my retainer this afternoon - will have to wear it 24/7 for 3 mths and then only at night after that.

I'm a nervous wreck, have an appointment scheduled for tommorrow to get my braces taken off but I'm worried the Orthodontist will say I need them on for a while longer - I'm looking forward to eating a meal without worrying about my braces this w/end!

Was told when I got mine on in Feb 07 that i'll have them on for 12-18 mths but not sure if they say that to everyone so hopefully by end of summer next year Will be 29

Having a little problem - my top teeth have moved and the wire on one side seems to be catching the inside of my cheek every now and again. My ortho is off on hols this week so have been using wax.
Has this happened to anyone else?

New to the site - got my top braces on 6 days ago but have bottom braces on 6 mths now. Have to say little bit depressed because top braces are pretty noticeable and my top lip is sticking out a bit because of braces. Ortho said i'll be wearing braces for approx 10 mths so its not that bad I suppose...
