I only had white fillings and then I went to some old local dentist who gave me a metal one. I never returned there but I'm annoyed he did that when white ones were available.

Two slight donwfalls however (isnt there always) - this is presuming my surgeon is happy for this to be done, when i see him again in 3 weeks.
I wouldn't worry about that, my surgeon was happy with mine to be taken off months before my orthodontist was.

Congratulations!

With a Hawley my very back molars used to just about meet and within a few days they meet before any of my other teeth do (the retainer doesn't cover these so they have no contact while the retainers are in and may be trying to close that gap). I've found it annoying because my bite was fine when I ...

Yeah, that's what I think is happening. My back teeth don't have anything to hit against when my retainer is in, so they may be growing closer together.

It's just strange that my bite was fine when I got the braces off, it's the retainer that seems to have done this.

I'm not sure I should get anything done with my regular dentist in case more changes occur because these are in for the next six months.

Back teeth meeting too early

I've only had my Hawley a few days but whenever I take it out for cleaning etc. I notice my very back teeth (that are not retained) meet much sooner than before and so the rest of my teeth except the very front teeth no longer meet.

Has anybody else experienced this?

That's another thing that I wish I could say, that I'm now happy with my smile. Unfortunately, for some reason, half of my bottom lip doesn't go down fully when I smile now, a problem I never had before. It's a bit like Milo Ventimiglia's smile, which I think was caused by dead nerves as a result of...

hi Kayshal19! I had my jaw moved foward somewhere between 6-8mm, 7 months ago to the day, today. I still have what I would call a large swath of numbness in all of my lower lip and in my whole chin area. It goes from really worrying me, to aching, to burning, to not hurting at all - which will tell...

I wish I had the same experience as all of you. Mine were way open because I kind of fought my elastics as I wanted my front teeth to meet properly, but it turns out they wanted to leave me with an overbite (much smaller than originally though) as my back teeth do meet when I allowed my jaw to move ...

Hi PCP.

I went into my orthodontist about 4 weeks after my surgery and he just looked at it and said he didn't want to do anything then but he's got me booked in for the start of November(which would be about 9 weeks post op) for a half hour procedure so I presume he's going to do a fair bit then.
