See, this can happen when your teeth hang over each other, so maybe it will change when they move. The thing I would advise you of is to ask your ortho, because he/she/they, are going to be the ones who can actually answer this question effectively so do that. This is the best advise I can give you....

Well, I really don't know much about what you are asking, but I can say that it depends on your tooth. If it is a rather small tooth, they can't place the bracket but so far down. If they place it too far down, it can irrate if not damage your gum line. I had a tooth on the upper right back which wa...

I never had problems with my essix retainer. I had two different ones for the top and a bonded one on the bottom. The only reason I had to go to the hawley retainer was because I had started clenching my teeth at night which caused me to mis-shape my essix. That is the only problem I had. Oh and I c...

I never had any problems with the chains. When I had them, it was all the way around. It didn't hurt when they put them on either. I guess the people I went to had a very sensitive touch to them, all of them. I think that it just depends on how hard they pull on it to wrap it on the bracket. Some pu...

Well, the understanding that I had from the two orthos that are in the city I live in, that the figure 8 was the norm and when they needed to make the wire more secure and tight, they used the tie wires to wrap it in, which made it even tighter than the figure 8 could. So I guess it just depends on ...

Hey everyone, I'm back. I have been looking at this board, and thought I would post something. The colors I mainly stuck with were bright blue and hot pink, black and hot pink, purple and green. I did the crazy stuff. Oh and i saw on one of the first few pages where someone was talking about the fig...

You might have gotten the TMJ disorder. You could be clenching at night, if you are, you will eventually cause the disorder. I have it, and that is how it formed in my jaw. I clench my teeth alot. Ask your dentist to check your TMJ joint to make sure it rotates right. It can cause head-aches, pain i...

Yes, swelling and bleeding is normal. Unless the bleeding is excesive. I had my wisdom teeth cut out and my face was swollen and a little bruised, but I'm a good healer so I only bleed for a couple hours that day. Just make sure you aren't doing something that your not supposed to be doing which cou...

The cleanings will go fine. My hygenist doesn't have any problems cleaning around my bonded retainer. Also, after 3 yrs I still play with it with my tongue. You get used to it, but tend to still play with it.

Yeh, it shouldn't do that. At least not that I know of. So, I think you should ask your ortho about this one. Sorry I couldn't help as much as I thought I did.

My bonded retainer is like yours jeenielee81. Anyways, angie, the one you described, the one like jeenielee81's yeh, it's supposed to feel like that, you get used to it after a while. It only took me a day to get used to it, maybe a day or two, but you know. Anyways, it doesn't bother me at all and ...

Ok, an overbite is where your upper teeth cover your bottom teeth too much. Yes, they are supposed to cover some, but if you are said to have an over bite it covers too much. An openbite is where your back teeth close, but your front don't. I hope this helped you in what you asked. If I could rememb...
