I might be able to help but again no expert here. My upper midline was off and I had no extraction. It was corrected with just elastics. It took some time (2 1/2 months). It's a slow process I think.

At first I was very concious of mine and what people might think but now I embrace it and wear colored elastics. Makes it a little fun for me. I have Damons so I was never able to wear colored ligs so this is my chance and I'm having fun with it.

I had four springs. Two top and two bottom to close gaps that were created to rotate teeth. Worked pretty fast. They were put on in October and the gaps were pretty much gone by January. I got them off in February and now I have tiebacks (I think those are to settle everything into place because I a...

I've been wearing them for over two months now and the pain still comes and goes depending on the day and the tooth. I was told to change mine at least 3 times a day but try for 5. As often as I break them I'm changing them about 6 times a day.

Contentt- I live in the North Bay Area and almost every ortho around here does free consults. I know of one ortho who does have an office in S.F. and he treated three of my cousins. Anyway you may want to check him out. His name is VanBergen. He also has an office where I live but I believe he spend...

For me I decided how much I could afford to put down and than my monthly payments were based on that. I put down $300 when I had my records appointment (molds, x-rays, and pics) and I pay $155 a month. For my daughter we are putting down $280 and her payments are only $92 a month but she is only get...

I've been wearing elastics for a couple of months now and I know what you are talking about. Ever once is a while one of the teeth that the elastics are hooked on will just start hurting. The way I think of is that that tooth is moving so pain is a good thing. I usually goes away after a couple of d...

Well, after over a month of consultations and consideration, we took our daughter in for a cleaning with our dentist (which by the way is the person that suggested the consults in the first place). One of the first questions he asked me was when we were going to start orthodontic treatment. So I exp...

I have to agree with JC you have done a lot of research for someone your age. More than I think I did before I got my braces. Most of mine came after the fact. I think you should get consults from a few orthos to see what will work best for you. Hang in there and good luck Amy Damon's top and bottom...

Hi Bren123. I live in Northern California and my Damon's top and bottom were $4400 for twenty months of treatment. But not only does tha vary by the area that you live in, it also varies by orthodontist and least it does here in the US.

I put $300 and $155 a month for 20 months (regardless if I finish treatment early). No credit check and no contract. And no interest. For my daughter we decide how much we put down and that will determine the monthly payments over a years time (that the amount of time the expect her to be braced for...

I think it also depends on if your ortho has a lab in their office to make retainers themselves or if they have to send out the impressions to a lab.
