My elastics are in triangle configurations and I didn't have to have brackets changed I have posts on my archewires to hook onto. I think it just depends on what you already have going on in treatment.

Right now I have elastics to correct my midline but I'll also wear them in a different configuration to correct my overbite. There are lots of different reasons for them as I'm sure more people will post as to why they have theirs. Good luck!

My husband has plans to get me one of those apples thats dipped in chocolate and carmel and covered in almonds. Than I want corn on the cob and salad and popcorn and a big deli sandwich on a hard french roll!!! Can't wait!!!

I have that wire top and bottom. It is the worst. I remember when I got mine in back in October. It really does hurt but believe or not just like all the other wires you get used to it. The elastics don't hurt but the pressure they are putting on my jaw is giving me a headache and making me nausous....

I just got Otters today and had a choice of colors or clear. Went for the clear this time but maybe next time I'll be brave and pick the color ones.

I got my elastics today and the ortho said around the hook only but I would ask your ortho to be sure. Also got a time estimate as to how much longer I'll have to wear the braces and he said 3 months. That's 4 months less than original time frame!! So excited!!

I have United Concordia through my husband's work and our coverage is $1500 lifetime for adults if you see an ortho within their plan. Lucky for me that happened. Still out of pocket $3500. After an adjustment I eat a really big meal before the pain hits and than I spend the next few days living on ice cream (plain chocolate) and coffee or tea. It does get better just give it time.
