I am sure different orthodontists have different opinions on this, but mine told me I can bleach as soon as they come off if I want. I am waiting a week because I can't get into the dentist before then. If you have any puffiness of your gums you may want to wait for that to go down just because ther...

"You can't put icing on a half-baked cake."

I'm sure he will worry about straightening at some point, but function is more important to the docs, IMO. The aesthetics are just "icing" after that.

I am one of the "deep bite" crowd and my curve was really comething else. It leveled out pretty quickly, though. I think the fact that I have been sleeping with my mouth open (ew!) since I got braces helped. JMO, but I think my teeth got a good break from the clenching at night this way.

I have a few of these stories, but most of them are from before braces. I went shopping with my little sister for her prom dress. I was 28 at the time and she was 18. I was looking through a rack and said "wow, I'd like to have this one if I had somewhere to wear it." The lady in the store...

Most of the straightening took place early on, like yours is. The (positive) changes to my bite didn't really start kicking along until about 7-8 months, though, but once they started it really happened fast. I REALLY think my early release is directly related to good elastic wear and hygiene if tha...

Just a question too....seeing as you have a deep bite, were you back molars not touching until the elastic phase? And if so, how long before they came together? At the 6 month mark it felt like ALL that touched was my canines (this is also when I started my elastics/discontinued my sagittal applian...

I don't know why they moved faster really. I had a very deep bite and it is waaay better now. Not perfect, but as much as he could get on an adult without surgery and it is within what looks "normal" to most people now. I have been a Sonicare brushing fiend and wore my rubber bands consist...

I have porcelain veneers that are ~10 years old. The braces stick to them fine and don't pull them off. I think they use a different adhesive for the brackets on veneers and crowns. I have not popped off a bracket the entire year I have been wearing my braces and I wasn't completely good about not b...

I had my last adjustment today

They come off January 9th. They are ready now, but that is the first available time slot for taking them off. I was supposed to have 18-24 months and finished in 12...13 by the time they get them off, though. Excuse me while I dance!       :ba...

It could just be the first thing she noticed to comment on. I have told a guy I liked his shirt before (when I was single) even though the shirt was not all that special...I just needed an opener. :D I'd be glad your braces provide an opener.

That is great progress!

Do you feel it has changed how your face looks with your mouth closed? Does you mouth look less narrow/fuller? Or can you not really tell because of the braces?

Just curious. :D

Some orthos check root position as they think your treatment is getting close to done. My ortho just had a "talk" with me about my progress to see what I thought about it because he thinks I am finishing quite early. He more or less wanted to know if I saw anything I didn't like...as far a...
