A recipe forum sounds great. I'd like to learn new recipes and get new ideas of things to eat that are both easy on the mouth and filling. At times I eat a meal and I'm still hungry.

1st Adjustment Last Week

It's been a while since I posted my progress. Went in for my 1st adjustment last week. Had my uppers put on in September and lowers in October. During the appt, I got all new wires and powerchains on the front 4 upper teeth. I see the small gap I had between the first 2 uppers close, but now I'm wai...

I have had my uppers on for 4 weeks and get my lowers on in 2 weeks. I've seen a slight difference. My girlfriend said she saw a difference in my profile which has spearheaded me to take more pics of myself. I've gotten compliments and everything which is weird. I have spaces so I'm waiting for them...

I get my lowers on Nov 6th so I'll have to post my results. I'm eating on the side of my mouth. What I'd give to eat a cheeseburger or a philly cheesesteak without a knife and fork.

I didn't even know they made an electric flosser. Sounds very interesting. I haven't paid attention to the time it takes me to brush. I just got my uppers on so I typically brush in the morning and rinse. After lunch I rinse. At night I brush, floss, and rinse. Once I start eating more "real&qu...

Okay, I'm on Day 2. Did my brushing and flossing last night. Today, I feel slight pressure on my front teeth. Had a baked potato and trying to get used to this. A few coworkers couldn't even tell I had them even when I smiled which made me feel good. Still a little self conscious since I still think...

I've heard the same. I tried eating some chips today. Not too bad. Next real test is brushing and flossing.

4 hrs after my uppers were put on. No pain. Just slight discomfort knowing that these things are in my mouth. I've had soup and applesauce so far. I feel like my lip is protruding but it's not. Just a weird feeling and waiting for my mouth to "wetten" up again after taking the drying table...

Thanks for the tips. I have my water, lip balm, and pills ready for tomorrow. Just got off the phone with a friend that took hers off this year and now I feel empowered. I'm going to stay positive and just take it day by day. I'll be sure to take lots of pics. I definitely have the pre-braces pics. ...

Taking the plunge...

It's taken 30+ years, but I'm finally taking the plunge and getting my braces tomorrow. I opted for porceline uppers and metal bottoms. Tomorrow I'm getting the uppers and then in 8 weeks the bottoms. I've been reading some good tips on this site that I just found today.(getting a little antsy). So ...
