My ortho told me that the 1/2 clear damon brackets tend to come off easily and need more repairs, she doesn't use these anymore, only metal.

My husband was really supportive of getting braces, and I didn't tell anyone else in my family until after the braces were put on, because I knew that they would talk me out of it. Now they can't talk me out of it, the braces are already on!

Thanks everyone, your suggestions have helped. I take one day at a time. The women that have made rude comments to me could use braces themselves, really it's no joke! Well..on a positive note, I can tell some of my teeth have moved already it hasn't been 2 weeks yet.

I don't know anyone that has braces on as an adult. I returned to work with braces, and after many comments from others I just want to hide in my office. So many women have made negative comments to me about the braces... I didn't think some would be so rude...and me so sensitive to their comments! ...

I had Damon braces put on 8 days ago. The all metal ones, not the ones that are 1/2 clear. My ortho said the clear need to be fixed too often and she does not use those. May be a side effect for you, everyone is different. It's similar to aspirin.
Have you tried Tylenol? Maybe just sucking on some ice may help too.
If the bruising is unusual and continues check with your MD.
