Discolored teeth
Thanks, Karl! That puts my mind at ease. I called my surgeons office yesterday, too and they said this is a common occurrence because the surgery can disrupt the blood supply to the tooth and most often the tooth can return to a normal color on it's own.

Pregnancy
Hi,
My surgeon tells all his female patients not to get pregnant for 1 year post surgery. This is important since the hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy and lactation can cause changes in the joints and create relapse. I would be very cautious about this.

Thanks for your replies. Do you have any advice as to how to pick the best surgeon? I have heard that Dr. William Arnett is the best in the country, but I haven't talked to anyone that has actually had surgery by him or knows anyone that has had surgery by him.

It's for jaw alignment, but I have had a very long standing case of pain. I'm now at the place where I can have orthognatic surgery.

Meryaten, Thanks for the info. Yes, US is a big place, but since I have a complicated case and I want the most skilled surgeon I'm willing to travel if necessary. I live on the East Coast and would prefer someone here, but so far I don't know of anyone. Do you know if your doctor has a website or an...

Can anyone recommend an excellent Orthognathic surgeon in the US. Has anyone heard of Dr. William Arnett in Santa Barbara?
