"Not quite dead yet"
Okay, the title of the post was for the Monty Python lover out there...you know who your are. Despite how it may have appeared as of late I am not dead....although there are days that I think that is the only way I'll get any sleep. Things have been going pretty well since I was unwired on February ...

Howdy December Girl, Sorry I've been AWOL but work is just kicking my butt. I really could use an associate of my own, or at least my own paralegal....but no, not in this economy, so instead I get to work insane hours. Sounds like you're having some adventures of your own right now. I know what you ...

Phil, I swear that you must have been Atilla the Hun in a past life because the karma in this one is just kicking you around. One of these days you will finally get done with all this mouth trauma and sit down with a big steak and a cold beer and laugh at the gods. But until that day I hope that thi...

Louise, I've been gone from the board for a while but remember that you were just getting ready to surgery as I was getting ready to be unwired. I am so sorry to hear that things have not gone smoothly with your procedure. I had a slight setback after my operation, but nothing like what you are bein...

I thought it was normal for the onion to hang out...Another life long truism dispelled. This week has been truly insane and if could get extra points for listening to people say horrible things to each other I would have won the vitriolic olympics. Sometimes I wonder why I became a lawyer bec...

Unwired and Living Large
Sorry for being a week late in giving an update. As most of you know I was scheduled to get my jaws unwired after almost 8 weeks on February 1st and it did indeed happen!! :D and they managed to remove the EVIL WIRE (EW) from the jaw as well. It was an odd sensation but except for a little hurt from...

20 hours and counting
As the header says, in 20 hours I'll begin the process of having my jaws unwired and the splint removed. I am more than ready for this event. This week has been the week from hell. Because I've gotten so much of the feeling back in my lips and gums the wires that are going through the bones and gums...

I know what you mean about the eustation tubes. Ever since my second procedure when the swellig really increased on the right side I have had ongoing boughts of dizzinss. The OS says this is normal and it will just take time to resolve. But int he mean time I have moments of needing to grab ahold of...

Given how gentle this experience was I think I could have done it by week three. I have to say I was pretty skeptical going into it and decided it would be a nice relaxing experience if nothing else and was pleasantly surprised. In fact, just this afternoon a paralegal in my office who had no idea t...

Lymphatic Drainage Massage
Okay, here's my report on the lymphatic Drainage massage (LDM). When there yesterday directely from the OS who confirmed that we are a go for unwiring and unsplinting next Friday. He'll try to remove the wire in the right jaw, but it he has to do too much tugging he'll leave it for a few more months...

Kelly J. Welcome to the forum. It's okay to be apprehensive, but don't be scared. A ton of folks have gone through this and while there is always the possibility of complications (Phil is our poster boy for that) and there are some tough days, the end result is worth it (Phil is also our poster boy ...

Arvensis, I feel you pain....literally. It realy sucks when you feel like you're making progress and doing so well and suddenly your body protests. Like Phil says, you're doing the right things, also, consider trying to get a little more rest to give your body that little extra to deal with the litt...
