Hi, Usually it takes a week or two...the orthodontist has to make some records to make a definitive treatment plan....these consist of impressions, a cephalometric x-ray (the profile view of your head), and some photos, etc...once they have all this they can get ready for the appointment to actually...

I noticed the same thing between my two central incisors...just figured it was part of the deal.
