Ok...we're moving along now. Last Thurs (1/3/08) I had my 2 teeth pulled. That wasn't so bad. I've had some tenderness around the extraction site. Not dry socket. Salt water rinse helps and it's getting better. Today they put the archwire and power chains on to close the gap. Fortunately, the gaps a...

My Journey to a NiceSmile

Hi there! I'm a 36 year old mom from GA and I finally got braces. I decided I want to keep track of my journey to a new smile and I hope you don't mind my sharing. I've had an overjet as long as I can remember. As a kid, my parents spoke to the dentists we used and none felt that I needed braces. My...

Hi Julie

I'm in a similar situation as you. 36 just got clear on top yesterday and will get metal in 6 mos. I also had a silver filling replaced about 3 weeks ago.

Good luck with your adventure :)

Oral B Orthodontic Brushheads

For those of you who use an Oral B toothbrush with this brushhead, did you have to order yours special or online? I've been to my local drugstores and grocery stores and haven't seen it. Any suggestions for the best place to find?

Thanks

My husband surprised me with this gadget last night (because he had one when he had braces). I can definitely see how it would help blast stuff out. It just doesn't feel the same as flossing to me. So of course I'll do both. :)

Yesterday was my b-day

Yesterday I got clear braces put on the time. It wasn't too bad -- nothing that a little wax and tylenol can't handle. My husband is being so supportive also! He gave me a Christmas present early -- the Oral B Triumph. Love that thing! (had the Vitality before) I still have to have two teeth pulled....

I'm getting mine next Tuesday and am not planning on going back.

I have to have extractions also, but the holidays are making that trickier. My ortho plans to put the archwire on the same day that the oral surgeon does the extractions. I have a feeling I'll be out that day. Maybe the next?

If you get ceramic see if they have pearl colored ligs or o-rings as my ortho called them. They said Pearl doesnt stain and it does blend so well with ceramic brackets. And they haven't stained yet for me :D And I've had tea and chocolate. Thanks for the info! I'll be sure to ask about it. Thanks

New here

Hi there...I'm new here and wanted to say HI! I've decided to finally take the plunge and get braces. I've met with 3 orthodontists and 2 oral surgeons. The recommended treatment was the corrective jaw surgery. This site was great in helping me learn more about what all that entails. Apparently I ha...
