Well I have a date for the splint removal! January 7th! It's unfortunate for me that my ortho and my surgeon are both taking "breaks" right around when I need it out. Better for me I guess, less of a chance of the set of impressions they are using for the trans palate arch "ripping&qu...

I can feel the plates on my upper jaw and some of the gap and I can feel the gap in my lower jaw. Probably the wierdest thing I've ever felt. I concurr with the pain as well.

I definitely have a lot of this going on. When I rub my upper lip the top of my palate tingles.

I'm impressed by your preparation. I guess after three times you'd be well prepared!

My oral surgeon is dead set on not taking it off any shorter than six weeks. He's fine with anything over though. The closest we would be able to get prior to six weeks would be the 21st and that would be five days short. He'd consider that "significantly" shorter. Thanks for the encouragm...

I'm active duty military so I definitely have to run from time to time. I've found that hydration and wax are the most important things to address for longer runs. Even the most hydrated runner will experience dry mouth at some point so if you have a spot that is chronically sensitive put some wax o...

You could try to convinve your orthodontist to see you more often. I persuade my orthodontist to schedule my visits as close together as possible. I've had two of the strongest powerchains stacked on top of each other across my lower teeth to get the gap closed. Military orthodontists sure can be cr...

Sounds like you should put in an emergency call to your orthodontist. You could be doing damage to your teeth.

My first and second orthodontist would both scrape between my front teeth in the early stages of my orthodontics to make sure there was no plaque building up in between them. Those four teeth were VERY slow to move together, though they straightened up quick and they both thought clearing out any pl...

I have definitely heard of having to have bridges removed for braces. But I've also heard of (with implants at least) an adjustable crown being put on that can move with the other teeth until the position is finalized. I don't see why they couldn't do something similar for someone with a bridge.

That's exactly what it is in for. Stability. I'm getting better at talking with it but the longer the conversation the more slurring I get!
