You can check out the Photos section of my site if you wish and read the varying levels of my numbness in the Recovery Photos section. I'll warn you now though that after a sliding genio in 2007, I'm still numb in spot about the size of a quarter in my chin and its been a few years. It doesn't bothe...

Suggest email to each of them. That worked well for my case because both men were too busy to get each other on the phone. Email works well because one can get to the message and reply when he/she has time, and the other can write back when he/she has time. And if they cc you you have a written acco...

Well, having experienced both college, and full-time employment, I can say that it would be much easier to miss work than school in my opinion. It would also be much less aggravating. I list a bunch of pros and cons on that note in the details section of http://thisisjustwrong.com if you're curious,...

This is just a hunch, but I don't think your surgeon is going to want you playing tennis anytime soon after surgery, regardless of whether your nerves have regrown or not. At 18, you're in a good spot as far as a quick recovery, but I can't imagine your doctor will let you back on the court with swi...

See my before & afters in the Photos section of this site:

You can check out the x-rays to see what exactly I had done. I clearly have a shorter face, mostly due to the closing of the open bite combined with the genio. It's a dramatic difference IMO.

In my case, I found that my speech improved 100% from being tightly banded to have the bands removed. I went from no one being able to understand a word I was saying, to being able to talk on the phone and be understood at the super-market and what-have-you. THEN, I was uber-disappointed with the la...

Re: Questons for those that had double-jaw surgery..
1. How long were you wired shut for? I was banded for 1-week. The splint stayed in for 2 weeks following being unbanded. 2. How long were you on a liquid only diet and when were you allowed to start eating soft foods again? I started eating soft food around 4 weeks post-op after the splint came out...

Karl, that is a great picture - not sure if I can call it funny or what! You poor thing with that oblivious child probably climbing all over you.....she's precious, though! It IS a funny photo, its hilarious, I was SO miserable and it didn't effect her at all. Enigma, sorry to chime in late but her...
