sorry, I didn't read your post properly! I've been wearing retainers since May. The upper bonded retainer does not interfere with my bite whatsoever, so I would ask about that. And, luckily I never badly suffered from nausea, and the Essixs didn't cause me any problems when actually wearing them, bu...

I'm also pregnant with my second child. I was pregnant with my first whilst in braces!! And now I'm wearing bonded retainers top and bottom and Essix retainers every other evening. I certainly didn't experience any problems whilst pregant and wearing braces and haven't really experienced any problem...

I have to say I HATE my Essix retainer. But thankfully I only have to wear it every other night. Most of my retention is through the bonded retainers top and bottom and I ceased noticing them after and hour. But my Essix are yuck and I feel sorry for anyone having to wear them 24/7. It's not because...

Congrats on your pregnancy. I was pregnant last year whilst in braces and there was no problems really. The only thing I suffered from was swollen and bleeding gums which is a symptom of pregnancy and it was a pain particularly what with braces. Unfortunately pregnancy did not make my treatment any ...

Yeah - I'm going to have some gum recontouring where there is some uneveness on my top arch and I'll also have my fillings changed to white fillings but only as and when they need replacing.

Congratulations on your forthcoming de-banding. I had impressions done a week before my de-banding for my bonded retainer then they sprang another set on me after my de-banding for my Essix retainer! I was really annoyed as I'd taken loads of care with my make-up that morning because I wanted to loo...

I can see where you're coming from Maryaten, but I'm not sure that a 'collapsed' look would occur in every case of a receeding chin. As this is exactly the problem I had and was corrected, as far a possible without surgery, with extractions and braces. And whilst my profile has changed it's for the ...

Definately get another opinion as other posters have suggested. But I just wanted to let you know that I had 4 extractions to correct an overbite/jet so a little different to your problem. I had one wisdom tooth extracted because of a persistant cavity but the others are impacted and aren't through ...

Congratulations on being so close to your debanding date.

The discomfort doesn't last long and afterwards you'll look great so just grin and bear it. It's no worse than having a filling.

Retainer wear - how long before teeth settle idown.

Hello, I had my braces removed last week, woohoo!, and was given a fixed retainer on both bottom and top arches and yesterday I picked up my Essix retainers for night wear. I'm supposed to wear my Essix retainers every night for a 'few' months, (exactly how many months will constitute a 'few' is sti...

I saw the headlines reading over someone else's shoulder but couldn't manage to grab myself a metro yesterday. The "after" pictures just look it's been created by some make-up, haircut and a smile, which is probably what had been done.

Poor you! It does get better believe me. By day 5 after getting braced I was searching through my toolbox looking for something to rip the bloody things off, but as I'm a girl and my toolbox a bit... well girly I was unsuccessful. Which was just aswell because the next day they really didn't ...

I have a permanent retainer which is a small wire bonded to the back of my front teeth. I'm finding this very comfortable to wear and after the first 10 minutes barely notice it there. This will stop my front teeth only from moving, I will be wearing a removable retainer at night that just slips ove...
