When I got my braces put on this Wednesday the ortho bent the archwire towards my gums by my upper and lower canines. In the flurry of everything going on I forgot to ask what purpose these bends in the archwire serve. Anyone have any ideas? Below is a photo of what I'm talking about. http://img166....

The glue used to hold my braces on seems to extend out a bit around the brackets on some of my teeth. While this doesn't seem that odd to me, when I look at my teeth I have a hard time telling the glue apart from bad things like food and plaque. Does this glue wear off? I'm guessing not... As I understand, the wire/metal ties/ligs vary depending on the treatment you need. But that would definitely work well to avoid staining.

Does having that much metal around the ceramic brackets make them much more noticeable?

Easy day for me to remember... I get my braces on today.

I'm with you BrandonH, I got my spacers a week ago and my bite all messed up now. I can't tell if it's because my teeth have moved, if the spacers are getting in the way or a little bit of both. I get braces tomorrow and I'll be glad to see the spacers go.

I'm sure I'll keep coming up with additional questions as the day progresses, but here goes... So how bad is the staining with things like tea, soda, ketchup and tomato sauces? I can handle giving up tea and soda while I have braces, but it will be MUCH harder for me to give up tomato based sauces. ...
