i had lower jaw moved forward on 5th June. I think I have similar experience to those described above- my jaw joint on the right has been aching constantly for the last 24hrs and pain killers arent helping. I have an appointment with surgeon tomorrow and hope to get some reassurance on this issue. :)

Hey just letting you guys know my surgery went really well and surgeon is pleased with results. Hey everyone its so reassuring to know theres others in the same boat. Does anyone have any suggestions of what kind of preperations we should be making to make post-surgery a little easier?

Hey im having lower jaw surgery 5th June so guess that makes me part of the june crew! :-) Im in the UK and its my first experience of surgery so really scared.

I'm not scheduled for my op until October but I'm thinking ahead. I'll be pretty much looking after myself after the op as I live alone but will have friends popping in etc. I'm just not sure if this is gonna be enough straight after surgery. What kind of practical things will I struggle with. Also ...

Hey Max it sounds like we have a lot in common. Im also from north east and have a 11m overjet. I have an extreme fear of dentists and always recieve sedation. It took me many years of hiding my mouth and refusing to discuss how I felt to request treatment, although I had been offered it as a child....

I felt the same about my gap but after speaking with my dentist I changed my mind as he told me it would stengthen my after-surgery bite if it was closed.
