Sugar
I forgot to ask my ortho this - does anyone drink sugar in their beverages here? I've read all the discussion about coffee staining ligatures etc. but I cut out coffee because I have one sugar in it (unlike tea which I drink without). I need all the calories I can get though as I am a bit on the sma...

Thanks for that posting! I go back to work on Monday after taking some holiday (had the time to use up anyway so thought - opportunity to get used to braces!), and I was wondering what everyone's reaction would be. I told everyone beforehand to save shock-horror looks but still! But as you said, the...

Update - braces in today!
Hi all Had my Damon 3 braces fitted today. My darling hubby has been so sweet, he reckons you can hardly see them - love him! Anyways - no spacers! Not a one! The ortho said that now braces are bonded onto the teeth, they no longer need spacers or molar bands. Not quite sure I had got that bit right...

Hey Kara I have been following your progress with interest - I have my B.Day Saturday - eek! So I will try take some pics just after braces - wondering when I will start to see improvements, will be so good to see the teeth move after all this. Haven't heard about my root removal yet so that's still...

Hi Kara How is it going? Hope the spacers are feeling better and you get to enjoy your holiday. I get my braces Saturday and think my ortho might be waiting to spring the surprise of spacers on me then! Can't believe it is really happening... Anyway hope you get back to normal soon and feel better. ...

Hi Brittanube! I know - these extractions are not always a walk in the park are they?! Ah well, with any luck it will be NHS, and not too bad with a proper oral surgeon doing it. At least it is one of the the lower teeth, I found the injections into the roof of my mouth SO weird when they did the up...

Update - braces in one week!
Well, getting scary now. Braces are next Saturday morning  Had a phone call from my dentist this week, who informed me that he had left quite a big bit of root in after the final lower tooth extraction. He's not keen to do the removal of this himself due to the awkward position and so is refe...

Hi CarolEEna Thanks for the link to the InnovationCs - I don't think I can change what I am having as my ortho only does plain big ceramics, full metal and damons. But a lot of people say the damon aren't too noticeable so here's hoping! I felt a bit weird about the extraction gaps, especially when ...
