Concerns over IPR??
Has anyone ever had problems resulting from IPR? I finally discovered what IPR was when I when in yesterday and they explained they had to "shave" a bit from between my 2 front teeth-- my first and only IPR, he told me. However, my ortho didn't do it, but one of the assistants/technicians....

The main question I would ponder would be this: How much experience and expertise does your dentist/ortho have? I have friends who are dentists, both of whom know a bit about Invisalign (and in all fairness, don't do it. One friend says it was just one more thing to learn about and he already does a...

I don't know how much those cleaning crystals are, but I've been using Efferdent twice/day. Just drop in my aligner, leave it for 15-30 mins while I'm eating, and they're spankin' clean! I'm really pleased because I'd heard that these things can get icky, and when I finished my last one, it was as g...

You all make good points. I've got these things for only 9 months, so I should behave diligently like any pregnant woman would for that time (Ha ha!). Idon't mind having them in at all. They don't even seem to matter when I smile in pictures. In fact, because my problem is so minor and invisible to ...

How Many Hours w/o Invisalign is "Bad"?
Hi. I'm only on my 2nd liner. I've been pretty diligent, probably easily wearing these 22 hours/day during the week. On a Friday or Saturday, I've had it out for about 2 hours/max at one time. I'm going to a wedding next Saturday (I change the liner on Monday). What happens if I leave this liner out...

Heh heh. I may know that feeling: when I got laser eye surgery more than 10 years ago, I felt sad about giving up my contact lenses... I see your point about the pain. The first one? I dreaded even brushing my teeth, because removing them hurt sooo much. I put this 2nd one in yesterday morning, went...

I am lucky. There was a misunderstanding, and I had told my ortho that if I needed front attachments, I wasn't going to bother. The correction I need is so negligible that I was on the fence about it. I put my liner in this morning, and while it's a wee bit tight, nothing like round 1. I actually th...

Fwiw, I have almost perfectly aligned teeth (trying to attach ClinCheck, but can't). They are almost perfectly straight, but I notice (and sometimes in photos) that my one front tooth is *slightly* crooked (misaligned). Just to move it a few mms, it's taking 9 months, and 18 aligners. I don't know a...

About to switch to #2/18 aligners....
I've had my top aligners for 2 weeks (tomorrow), and am gingerly examining the bag for #2, making sure the numbers match, etc....It turns out that my ortho was able to order NEW aligners without the attachments, and the treatment time is exactly the same! (18 weeks-- hooray!). So obviously, the atta...

Karen, I'm curious to see if your trays came yet. As I mentioned, I'm in Ontario. We made some treatment changes, so my ortho emailed me today and said, with my approval, they're ordering a brand new set of aligners. I have an appt in 3 weeks, and unless there is a delay, they should be there. Any p...

I cannot believe yours is that expensive! My goodness. You said you didn't get a second opinion? Devushka No, didn't get a 2nd opinion. Locally, I figured it was all the same (small market). But I probably should have gone to Michigan, given the Canadian $. When I was a teen, I had my ortho work do...
