Thanks for the replies. Wow, lots of variation. Luckily I found the discharge instructions buried in my belongings bag...they said to take it off in 5 days. They even gave me special adhesive remover.

good idea, Karl. I just had surgery yesterday--BSSO with genio. Speaking is very difficult, esp. because the inner part of the splint prevents normal tongue movement, and my lower lip is very swollen and numb. The docs encourage speaking to reduce swelling, but I've gotta admit, I've been using text...

Thanks for documenting your experience so thoroughly! Nice results! Just wondering, did any of your doctors do imaging to give you an idea of the dramatic change that was to occur in your appearance?

You have very pretty features...jaw surgery would make an amazing improvement!

My doctor recommends 4-6 weeks of no heavy lifting (nothing over 5 lbs). I will take 4 weeks off from work completely, and hope I can be cleared to do desk work up to the 6th week.
