I DO think my nose looks better now with the stronger chin. It's always been my most dominant facial feature, and I think still is, just less so now.

BSSO/genio PICS--7 weeks post-op

Hey, ya'll! Decided to post some pictures of my BSSO and genio profile. Surgery was Sept 22. I'm very pleased with the profile results. I'm still getting used to the front view... my face looks longer with my new more-prominent chin. My formerly round cheeks have virtually disappeared from the 12 lb...

I'm in Oakland also, had surgery with Kaiser...had BSSO and genio done. They send home lower jaw surgery-only patients home the same day, unless there are complications. My surgery started at about 9:15 am, and I was home before well before dark. I want to say I was home by 2pm, but I was still so d...

So out of curiosity I tried the number on the website. It only "beeped" with no outgoing message :? . I just sent them a message to the email address (zipnsqueeze@earlink.net)that was listed on my Paypal order receipt to let them know of the phone contact difficulty. I double checked...I a...

I ordered some directly from their website in August, received them within a week, but then they I live in California, the same state the company is based in. My understanding was that they were having difficulty with international orders.

I had my BSSO and genio at Kaiser Oakland by one of Dr. Poor's colleagues. Tomorrow I'll be two weeks post-op; I was just unwired yesterday. My recovery has been pretty good, just taking some antibiotics and being super conscientious about oral hygiene because my genio incision popped open and a hem...

Thanks for the replies. Wow, lots of variation. Luckily I found the discharge instructions buried in my belongings bag...they said to take it off in 5 days. They even gave me special adhesive remover.

how long for genio dressing to come off?

I had BSSO and genio yesterday and all sorts of tape was placed on my chin for support. They told me it would come off on its own, I think. It's all a blur... I was really drugged out when they were trying to give my discharge instructions. I don't want to call the doc's office t ask cuz I don't thi...

good idea, Karl. I just had surgery yesterday--BSSO with genio. Speaking is very difficult, esp. because the inner part of the splint prevents normal tongue movement, and my lower lip is very swollen and numb. The docs encourage speaking to reduce swelling, but I've gotta admit, I've been using text...

Thanks for documenting your experience so thoroughly! Nice results! Just wondering, did any of your doctors do imaging to give you an idea of the dramatic change that was to occur in your appearance?

My doctor recommends 4-6 weeks of no heavy lifting (nothing over 5 lbs). I will take 4 weeks off from work completely, and hope I can be cleared to do desk work up to the 6th week.
