I was bored in class and gnawing on a pen cap absentmindedly, and then pushed the end of the pen against a bracket on this one tooth that sticks out a little bit more than the rest. I slipped. Yeah, broken bracket and a bloody lip from smacking my hand into my mouth.

And... if my teeth look so good, apparently... why do I have at least another year estimated in these suckers? :(

Thank you. :D I guess I feel kind of silly when I take a step out of my own perspective, I've just been so aggravated with my ortho lately... I know my teeth weren't that crooked in the first place and that might be why I feel like I'm not seeing much progress, but the things I needed corrected were...

My one year anniversary of getting braces is on January 31st! :) I guess people like to start the year off anew with braces... January is a popular month! My friend is getting them in a week as well.

PICTURES... do you think I'm progressing slowly?

I've had my braces on for a year, but I REALLY don't feel like I have that much progress with my teeth. Everybody else seems to have such a quick progression, and well... I don't. Plus, my teeth are getting WORSE in some aspects. My right front tooth on the top now sticks out a lot more than the res...

Your English is fine-- don't worry about it. :) As for kissing, I've been in braces for a year and haven't run into any problems. My boyfriend and I both have braces, so the only issue we've had is occasionally getting a lip caught between each set of braces when things get a little... frantic. :win...

I had to have it done on my bottom teeth because the tops of my bottom teeth were wider than the bottoms. This resulted in a lot of crowding, but with spaces lower down. It's kind of hard to explain-- the teeth just didn't fit together. After the slenderizing (that's what my ortho called it) they ar...

My boyfriend and I both have braces (with the same ortho too-- and even matching appointments for convenience... how sickeningly cute, eh?) and the only problem that we have is sometimes when we make out, either my upper lip will get caught between both our braces or his will. Usually it's just resp...

I noticed a lot of change in the first three months, but now it's been almost seven and it seems like everything's just STOPPED. =/ I haven't noticed any movement at all. I'm so sick of braces...

Thanks again! I got them on today.

Um, they're okay.

I'm not too thrilled. But I don't think they're as bad as I thought they would be.

They don't hurt, but I'm sure tomorrow I'll be singing a different tune. ;)

Thanks guys. :) I ended up choosing ceramic uppers and metal on the bottom. This makes my mom happier (she wasn't thrilled at the thought of all that metal in my mouth-- some health reason, I forget) and I'm happy too, because maybe this way braces won't be such a huge blow to my vanity. ;) Haha... ...

The spacers stink, don't they? I got mine almost two weeks ago, and I get my braces tomorrow. Gulp. :? I'll be honest with you, pain killers didn't do much for me, either... and even though my orthodontist told me the pain would go away completely after 3 days, it took me around a week, maybe more. ...

Pixie, trust me now, the spacers are the worst part of it all. The first days in braces you will have a little pressure, and a little irritation of the cheeks and lips, then after each adjustment you will have it all over again, but only for a day or two. Don't sweat it, the spacers are the worst, ...

I can relate. :( I got my spacers in yesterday, and it's taking all of my willpower not to yank them out. I have to keep them in for two weeks... and I'm practically counting down the seconds! I've been taking advil and eating lots of cold, soft things (lots of previously frozen fruit that I left ou...
