My orthodontist was first my children's orthodontist; referred to me by many clients. He is incredible and so is his staff. Because I had already known them all for at least four years while my kids were going through braces, when it came time to ask for a consult for me, he couldn't have been happi...

I'm kinda down about it, but the cast comes off next Monday, so at least I've got that going for me. This flu thing is HORRIBLE! Body aches, chills, fever, wicked h...

Hi all ~ does anyone find that in a single day the pain and discomfort can come and go and even change like the wind? I woke up today and one of my top ceramic brackets was literally STUCK to my top lip!!! OUCH! (gotta keep a chapstick in every room!) Later, after a warm cup of tea, it's almost like...

20 Years Later - She's Finally Doing It!
When I was 19, and working a full time job, I decided it was time for braces. I have severe overcrowding and was told that straighter teeth could potentially decrease my life-long stuttering problem. Well, like many teenagers, I chickened out at the last minute, went on to get married and have child...

Great Site
Thanks for the welcome! Just a quick 'about me'; I'm a 39-year-old divorced mother of two previously-braced teenagers. I was close to getting braces almost 20 years ago, then chickened out right before the big day. (molds were done and everything!) In conjunction with my new braces, I managed to bre...

Hi Athena, now that brings up a good question: How do you get through a speech or a presentation after a new adjustment? Here's my situation: Day 17 (i'm a newbie) with my braces (ceramic uppers/metal lowers) and I ALREADY sport a stuttering problem!!! (lucky me!) How much time does it take you to '...
