Thanks for replying. When I first got the spacers in between my teeth I didnt/couldn't eat for 3 days so I'm kinda hardened by that.

My only concern is that I hsouldn't be out of my mental state and what not - I might be tired but I am taking the day off from work.

Premolar Extractions day before a Midterm?

However the day, next week Wednesday, that he comes into my dentist is the day before a midterm exam of mine. Now if I study this weekend and all through out theweek, will the surgery affect me ...

Palette Expander ... and now extractions?? Whaa?

Ok so I got my braces on like 4 months ago when my (at that time ortho) said he would expand my palette to accommodate the teeth so that removal was not necessary. Fast forward like to this past week - I go in for a tightening and there is a new ortho - apparently the older guy I was used to took a ...

Went to get an adjustment after a month ....

Went in expecting to be in a world of pain again like the first time. Being this is my second month now with everything in my month I was expecting them to remove my arch wire and then put in a stiffer one and then reband me. However the tech who usually works on me just removed my bands and rebande...

Cheer up. I have heard after a while it gets much better to a point where you have little to no lisp.

I got my upper palette expander and I sound like daffy duck :) and I cant wait to get back to my normal speech patterns.

It will get better - just keep talking a lot with people you know.

Thanks.

I actually am getting better in talking. The lisp is slowing going away - but if I have to talk a lot then its drool city and the lisp comes back in a much heavier dose.

Jr in university - just started

Hi everyone, Great forum first of all! Love it - so much info that I have read as a guest that I decided to join. I just got my spacers removed after 2 weeks of intense pain (initially only though) and just got my palette expanded on the top. Wow talk about initial pain when the doctor tightened it....
