Welcome to the club
Hi! I am 49 (!) and I have braces on for a second time as an adult. We couldn't afford them when I was kid so when I was 24 I got them, back in the 80's when almost no adults had them. I just wanted a nice smile. Which I got. Ober the years I then had some periodontal issues and my teeth shifted. Ug...

Soon enough
I am on the second time. The first time when I was 23-25. We couldn't afford them when I was a kid and my teeth were awful. Now, after some periodontal work and some teeth shifting over the years I am in them again at 48. I went to my kids Ortho and they said 9 months and here I am again with 2 mont...

Dealing with the same thing at 48
Growing up we couldn't afford braces. I finally got them at 24 back in the 80's when no adults had them really. I just wanted nice teeth finally. Had wisdom teeth pulled, a couple of other teeth to make room. The end result after 2 years were gorgeous teeth. As the years have gone on, I had some per...

First go 'round...gummi bears
The first time I had my braces in my mid 20'3 I was manning a company booth at a food trade show and my booth was right next to the Gummi Bear booth and they had huge bowls of samples out. I then took the next few hours for 3 days fishing them out of my braces!

Go for the fixed
I was in braces in my mid-20's. 20 years later and there has been some shifting. I spoke to my kids' orthodontist, had them look and they said nine months and I would be done (with a retainer in the end). I am in month 2 and I can say that they are straigtening up very nice. Do the fixed braces. The...

Get it removed ASAP
My first round of braces in my mid 20's I had my wisdome teeth removed (all 4 of them) towards the end of the braces. My ortho wouldn't take my braces off until the teeth were out and the area healed. My younger sister had gorgeous teeth all her life and then in her 20's those wisdom teeth pushed th...

I am 48, and I have them on for a second time (the first was when I was 24). I have them on again due to gum work back in my late 30's (the shifted a bit) and then falling on my face about a year and a half ago and I seemed to have loosened them and they shifted a little bit more. My mom got Invisal...

2nd time around and solved problem with broken ceramics
Hi all. I have been lurking on this forum for awhile and finally got around to registering. I am a "veteran" braces wearer. When I was a kid we couldn't afford them. My teeth were embarassing and awful. I never smiled openly while at the same time being a happy, upbeat person. Twisted teet...
