Cade - was this only a tooth-positioner-needing issue back when all the teeth were banded? Yes, I believe so, If I remember my history from class. I believe this is why the tooth positioner was invented. If not invented them gain much popularity. It was the best way to close all the gaps all at onc...

Tooth positioners were very popular back in the day, when braces were made up of bands on every tooth. THey employed the tooth positioner to close the spaces the bands caused after you removed them. THen after the spaces were closed they took impressions for hawley. But with the invention of bonded ...

The orthodontist I work for pretty much only recommend Bonded retainers to the adult patient, mainly because they are the only ones mature enough to take care of them. As far as the upper bonded is concerned, one of the considerations is how you bite, or where your lower incisor contact your upper i...

I believe I have fixed the bugs on the site, especially with the half&half and stripes. Thank you guys for finding them I never would have found them by testing on just my computer. Now lets take it to the next level, shall we? If you guys could test the submission part of the site, you know, th...

The small impressions you are talking about would most likely be for bonded retainers. It is rare to have a bonded on the top although I have seen it a couple of times in certain situations. A removable retainer that could be made on such a small impression would be a 3-3 clip (or also called a gemi...

Try wearing your retainers for more hours during the day than not wearing your retainers. For example if you only wear your retainer at night and you get 8 hours of sleep. Your teeth are in retention for 8 hours. Then when you are at work for 8 hours your teeth are "free to move about the cabin...

BTW,
As for the hawley type retainers....last year, I just replaced a upper retainer for a 75 year old patient that had finally lost his retainer after 35 + years of wearing it! Now there is a goal everyone should strive for!

Heres is the scoop from an ortho lab, Essix retainers are quoted by they company (Densply Raintree Essix) to have an average life of 18-24 months. And they are guaranteed not to bubble for one year or they will replace it. As I have never seen them "bubble" I dont know what they are talkin...

I wouldnt worry about it, if they took your impressions the same day you got your braces off. your retainers will be made on the impressions of your teeth when they were perfectly straight. All retainers are made with a little "give" designed into them, so that if there is a little tooth m...

Thank you so much for the info, this is why I posted here. I still couldnt get the same results as you, each page came up, but I can tell there is something quirky about the linking system. Seems to be pulling links out of my site trash. I'm all for recycling and all but this is ridiculous. I will b...

The glitter red and glitter blue looks absolutly nothing like the retainers I'm going to get, they are blue in color not clear and has glitter! same thing for the red! I know exactly what you are talking about...i think The red in the red glitter means that the flakes are actually red and the blue ...

Hi Cade, I like the website! I tried a half and half blue and then purple glitter design but it wouldnt do the second colour but went to "Page Not Found". I tried twice...maybe just a fluke? I learnt a lot from your last post re the uses of retainers. Can you tell me if an upper Hawley re...
