Hello Eva, I am 59 and 1/2 and just had the wire put on for the top braces today. The bottom ones have been on for 3 weeks and I am starting to adjust. You are not the oldest one.... but I never see any other adults with braces so it is nice to read about some. Lindy

I find cold air and cold drinks painful too. And I am drinking hot tea with a straw so it doesn't stain the clear braces on top. I miss sipping my hot tea, so I am drinking hot water.... and using a lot of straws. The oold wash was painful when the brackets went on, more painful than the metal bands...

Since I am new to braces as an older adult - I am wondering if I am the oldest one to try this. Four children had braces and they are now enjoying making fun of me.

I am even newer to braces - Tuesday March 11 - metal on the bottom and clear on the top - but no wires yet - there are waiting to be sure I don't have an allergic reaction. Melissa, I am 59+ with four adult children who all had braces and they are enjoying my pain!
