For me, the first day after surgery was the worst. I felt dizzy for an entire day, couldn't eat, and felt like my jaw was about to drop everytime I stand up and walk. It gets better though, I was able to eat solid food day 2 and was back to normal physically after the second week.

I'm in my 20's so age wasn't a factor. For me, the ideal of being put under for the first time was scary but I would say in the end it wasn't that big of a deal. I also had trouble sleeping for some time after surgery. The surgeon did prescribed some sleeping pills but I didn't take any dose as I was hesitant to do so. Anyway, the issue will eventually go away on its own.

It's been almost four months since my bsso setback and I still have two small incisions wounds on either side of my upper lateral neck area. They're still red and raised to the touch. I'm also located here in Vancouver and had my BSSO setback about a month ago. Everything went fine, I didn't get any numbness or tingling sensation around the lower lip/chin area following surgery. I also had to pay everything out of my own pocket. I have less money in the bank but it's all worth it...
