For me, the first day after surgery was the worst. I felt dizzy for an entire day, couldn't eat, and felt like my jaw was about to drop everytime I stand up and walk. It gets better though, I was able to eat solid food day 2 and was back to normal physically after the second week.

I also had trouble sleeping for some time after surgery. The surgeon did prescribed some sleeping pills but I didn't take any dose as I was hesitant to do so. Anyway, the issue will eventually go away on its own.

I'm also located here in Vancouver and had my BSSO setback about a month ago. Everything went fine, I didn't get any numbness or tingling sensation around the lower lip/chin area following surgery. I also had to pay everything out of my own pocket. I have less money in the bank but it's all worth it...
