I first read this thread as I dove into a dinner of rice and veggies -- and let me tell you rice + broccoli = NOT easy to clean. Grains of rice and tiny pieces of broccoli all over. I'm also still at work and forgot my mini toothbrush so now I have to avoid talking to anyone before I leave in case I...

Hey Miss Smiley -- It's interesting you mention tea because I've been drinking tons of it the last week to get over a cold. However, it hasn't helped, in fact I feel my wire is protruding out a little more everday, and worse yet I'm in pain again. I just found it very difficult a eat a meal of soft ...

hey purpleteeth thanks for your reply i guess my biggest discomfort is that the last two days, my brackets have been rubbing up against the inside of my lips which has been driving me up the wall. I also have a coil spring that goes from my top front tooth to the ..second tooth to the right (sorry d...

hey thanks for your reply! my braces are actually working faster than most because i'm wearing 6-8 month adult orthodontics. i think im going to try and wait this one out and then mention it at my first adjustment. even though they are working faster, my adjustments are still 5-6weeks apart so maybe...

Ever feeeeel like you need an adjustment?

I notice that as the days go on lately, I feel like my wire is getting closer and closer to protuding out of my mouth. I'm finding it a little harder to get my lips all the way around my braces almost finding myself forcing my mouth completely around them. This also happened to me a few days after I...

well here is some hillarious irony -- today when i was brushing my teeth, i noticed some plaque-ish buildup on MY teeth!!! I notice however this is in the back of my teeth, not the front, and specifically on the bottom. i put a mirror to the back top of my front teeth and noticed there was s...

*melissa* I feel the same about the open mouth kissing! It's been a rare occurance the last couple of weeks, which sucks :( Haven't done much with the wax though. I feel as I'd have to wax all my front teeth, top and bottom for it make a difference which couldn't possibly help me feel any sort of a...

Hi Beth -- My boyfriend too was very supportive. I've been braced just over two weeks now and he says that it doesnt feel much different. I am the one self-conscious about it so I'm sure to be as careful as possible. I think it's more uncomfortable for me than it is for since I've got some self-cons...

Hey -- I have a similar question. I'm not concerned about the brackets staining, but I've noticed that my actual TEETH have yellowed since I had them put on two weeks ago. Despite smoking and drinking lots of coffee my teeth have always been pretty white. I'm not doing anything much different now, b...

Hi there --- I felt the need to post because I felt so alone while I was freaking out about getting braces. I had one month to prepare before my Brace Day, during which time I nearly called the ortho to cancel everything at least 25 times, and this was AFTER I signed up for the payment plan, had mol...

Interesting this topic has been bought up. I deliberately put on a few pounds for a month before I got my braces because I knew I was going to lose weight that I didn't want to lose. In the two weeks since I've had them -- it has all come off and then some. I weighed myself today and I'm the lowest ...

Possible to move your own teeth??

Hello there -- this question has been moved from Our Braces Stories. I've been braced almost two weeks now, clear upper, metal lowers. My estimated time in these braces is 6-8 months (I was braced with adult cosmetic braces, despite my very overcrowded smile) My question is, I hit one of my two fron...
