Finished Invisalign
I requested a plastic top and lower retainer instead of the wired retainer on top and permanent wire retainer on bottom and got them. I bought the Crest Pro Effects whitestrips (which worked wonders on the first treatment) to whiten my teeth. Two hygenists said to use these that they worked as good ...

Retainers
I consulted with my ortho and I asked if I could wear my last invisalign tray in the day instead of the wire retainer and he said that would be good for right now. They are going to make the clear retainer for me to wear instead of the wire retainers. I will have bonded retainer on my bottom teeth. ...

Retainer
I put my last Invisalign tray in last night just to see if my teeth had moved and it was super tight to the point of hurting. I asked my ortho about wearing a tray instead of wire retainer and he said he doesn't advise it because if any adjustments need to be made you cannot do it with a tray. I go ...

Retainers
How fast do your teeth shift back? I was told to wear my wire retainer 22 hours a day right now but I only wear them about 14 hours because I am a high school teacher and cannot teach with them in. Am I really in danger of my teeth moving leaving the retainer out this long.

Too much!
I had the Express and paid $2700 (10U and 10L) and I am using an orthodontist. This includes everything even the wire retainer. I also had them put a wire retainer on the back of my top front two teeth because they had a little space between them that I was not happy with at no extra charge. He noti...

Retainer
I am going to call my orthro and ask about the clear aligner like the Invisalign trays. I noticed one of my students had just gotten a clear tray to use as an retainer. The first day I walked into class with that wire retainer on one of my students said "Ew, gross". I immediately took it o...

I was given a choice.
The ortho told me I could get the wire retainer or have the bonded retainer. I asked him what he would do and he said the wire retainer. He said that the bonded retainer collect food and are not easy to keep your teeth clean as with the wire retainer you can take them out to eat. I just didn't know ...

How many hours to wear wire retainer in a day.
I just got my retainer Monday and was told to wear it 22 hours a day to begin with. I teach high school so I am not wearing it during school hours because it makes me look weird and talk weird. Am I doing much harm by doing this? As soon as I get home I put it on and wear it continuously until the n...

Wire retainer
My ortho gave me a choice of the permanent retainer on the back of the teeth or the wire retainer. He said that it would be easier to keep my teeth clean with the wire retainer because I can take it out to brush and floss. I asked him what he would recommend and he said the wire retainer so I went w...

Wire Retainer
I received my wire retainer today and have to wear it 22 hours a day at first. I don't know if I can do this. Every time I talk I gag. Anyone else have this problem. Everything else with Invisalign was a breeze until this.

Finishing when lower braces
After finishing my Invisalign treatment for 7 months with 10 upper and lower treatments I found that I had some gap on my lower front teeth that was not there before. I also had a very slight gap between my top front 2 teeth after having IPR on them that did not close up. My ortho gave me two option...

One tooth shorter than other
I am about to be finished with my Invisalign treatment next week. Before I started I had one front tooth shorter than the other due to bonding that had worn down on that tooth. It is probably 1/8 inch shorter. It seems more noticible now after the Invisalign treatment. Everything else is perfect exc...

I have not lost any weight.
I am on my 9th out of 10 trays and have not lost any weight. It depends on your eating habits before Invisalign. I did not snack much or drink alot of soft drinks before. My eating habits are about the same before and after Invisalign. That is why so many lose weight while wearing them. When they ar...

Overjet
I had a 5 mm overjet and my dentist said that Invisalign would correct them to about half or 2.5 mm. I told him that was good enough for me because I told him I was not going to wear the metal braces. I am on my 8th tray out of 10 and I am very pleased with the progress of correcting the overjet or ...

Refinements
What exactly is involved with refinements? I am on my 8th tray out of 10. One of my front teeth is shorter than the other. With refinements do they take molds again? How many refinements are there? Everything has gone perfectly except with the hassle of having to take them out to eat. No one notices...
