Re: October 2012 Buddies

I'm scheduled for October 4th with Dr. Arnett in Santa Barbara, CA! I can relate in that yes I'm still a good two months away but I feel like surgery day is going to be here before I know it. In a month or so I will start compiling all the post-op ...

Re: orthognathic vs. nose surgery (rhinoplasty)? any advice?

the nose issue is definitely problem and a lot of surgeons still don't seem to have a handle over it. many will harp about arnett/gunson but when it comes to noses they're under control. but you only have a 4mm open bite which isn't that bad. i would never recommend jaw surgery purely ...

Re: Australia: surgeon

Given that Arnett and Gunson operate 50 facial reconstructions per year, they have developed leading treatment planning and surgical techniques in this field. In fact, about 30 percent of the Arnett-Gunson practice is devoted ...

Re: Australia: surgeon

I asked Gunson on my consult how many times he's performed the surgery. He wasn't sure, but he estimated between 900-1100. That means Arnett has done 3,000 or so. That makes sense he's been practicing since the 70s. I think he said he does 2 operations per week...again, I had a lot of other ...

Re: Australia: surgeon

I found this ad for Arnett's courses where they say they (both of them) evaluated a total of over 10,000 patients for orthognathic surgery, and performed it on over 4,000. Can this be true? If they spend an hour on average with each ...

Re: Australia: surgeon

... you've made some progress yourself as I can see from your blog, I may contact you from time to time with questions, if I do decide to see Gunson/Arnett. Just to know what to expect from 1st visit etc...I hope that's OK. Australia is a very small market as you know (about half of the population ...

Re: Australia: surgeon

... I was told. It will not be deducted from the cost of the orthodontic treatment in future, though. It looks too expensive to me. I heard Gunson/Arnett charge $550 for the first consult, and although not orthodontists, they also do medical and cosmetic imaging. Maybe what I should do is save ...

Re: Surgery with Gunson

... jaw surgery for purely cosmetic reasons? i definitely wouldn't get jaw surgery for just aesthetics. it seems so weird because everyone raves about arnett/gunson yet he is so specific about the experience he had. and i believe arnett treats a lot of re-dos and botched jobs from other surgeons. that's ...

To all freaked out about Arnett/Gunson's imaging, this photo shows the before, predicted, and actual results. As you can see, she looks much better in her actual after than the prediction. http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7080/7042337219_10a1bac123.jpg ...

Correct, his surgeon was Arnett. I haven't heard anything negative on Dr. Gunson either.

Do you have a date yet? I'm probably 7 or 8 months away
