I would really like to schedule a consultation with Gunson/Arnett. The thing is, it'll be until October before I can go back into braces. I'd have to go with an OD in AK, who will want to work with an OS in AK, not CA. So, do I go see G/A before seeing ...

Re: Too old?

gunson/arnett don't discriminate based on age. the only reason i could see that they *might* discriminate is if your age might affect the recovery process and ability to fight off an infection. im sure you know arnett/gunson ...

Re: Too old?

... there's at least a few people on these boards that had surgery that were 60+ and I've seen a lot of people on the net who were above middle age. Arnett/Gunson will only turn you down if you don't have jaw abnormalities. I don't see anything wrong in your pic, your lower jaw may be small but it ...

Too old?

... know to be true-I have a small mandible. I'm wanting to have this fixed, and have my teeth straightened too, but I'm starting to worry that Arnett and Gunson won't accept older patients. Does anyone know the time limit for this? And, here's the link! http://img641.imageshack.us/img641/9642/blkjdg.jpg

... check augmentation varies from person. some cost $3,000+ depending on how much grafting is needed. based on the 20+ page FAQ sheet i received from arnett's office after agreeing to the surgery, the cheek graft - or augmentation - is done in steps. think of it as a mold. the hydroxiappetite can ...

... without surgery? Do you know the price if you only get the cheeks done? One of my complains is the area under my eyes, its a bit flat. Did you see Arnett too? I wish I had booked with Gunson. I only saw Gunson. The cheek graft is $500 per side, and I was told it can be done as part of the surgery ...

Re: Surgery with Arnett/Gunson scheduled, no insurance. : (

He is without doubt one of the most competent surgeons, if you can afford him go with him, he is the one of the best. A consult cant hurt, it can only give you options and a better understanding of what you can do next. a consult is important, but know that w/o insurance consults typically run $600...

Re: Surgery with Gunson

... the reality is this...any kind of meddling with your jaw area affects all regions of your face. nose, eyes, necklines, chins, etc. when i went to arnett, he really made it clear what to expect. but for most people the consult is 1-2 years before an actual surgery. between that time you have braces, ...

... or augmentation, can mess with the mechanics of your jaw. like a broken record, top surgeons in cali specializing in aesthetics+jaw surgery are arnett/gunson. if they say your bite is fine, and cosmetics is the right way to go...that's what i would do. the wont push surgery unless you need it. ...

Re: Surgery with Arnett/Gunson scheduled, no insurance. : (

Facial hair helps hide asymmetry. If you can grow some do that. Most people are asymmetrical and nobody notices. The gummy smile, unfortunately, is harder to conceal. I believe doctors can remove some gum to show more tooth. I think it helps with mild cases. Maybe research that. My personal opinion:...

Re: Surgery with Gunson

... cheek augmentations. I found this: But what I want is to have a significant aesthetic outcome. I definitely want cheekbone enhancement and Gunson/Arnett use hydroxyapatite paste for cheekbones ALSO they use something called vitoss which helps bone osteoinduction(i.e. growth at the site of a graft ...
