... how much of a risk there actually is. I don't think the docs know either with current science. But this is another reason why I was considering Dr Arnett because this is something he appears to be well versed in from my reading. Anyone have info to add on this topic, I'd be very interested.

If it's the Dr. Arnett I think it is, he is very well respected in the orthodontic community, and you can be assured that you are in good hands.

I don't have any personal experience with Dr. Arnett, but I can point you to a blog that may help. Kelsie had surgery with Dr. Arnett last year so that may be able to help you out a bit. Good luck and welcome to AW.

Surgeons

Thanks for your replies. Do you have any advice as to how to pick the best surgeon? I have heard that Dr. William Arnett is the best in the country, but I haven't talked to anyone that has actually had surgery by him or knows anyone that has had surgery by him.
