Help, my son just got braces yesterday. He HATES them. He says that the turbos are causing him so much pain that he can't eat. Does anyone have any suggestions on how he can deal with this so he will eat? He's on the thin side and can't afford to lose even 5 lbs.
I've given him smoothies, hard boiled eggs, and lots of other soft foods. It just isn't working. He is sooo unhappy.
Any suggestions?

They are forcing his teeth to move so yes they will hurt but it will only be the first 2 to 3 days after getting them and a day or so after adjustments. He will learn different ways to chew very quickly but its something you can't do for him or instruct him on really. Just encourage him to eat small amounts more often so its bearable to begin with.
