hi Diana,
i have the standard lingual braces on the top on regular metal on the lowers....
i have had them on for 2 weeks yesterday and i am finally starting to get used to them....... the first week was an absolute nightmare i thought i had just made the most expensive mistake ever!!!!!
i couldn’t talk at all, not a lot of pain really and i waxed up completely covering everything at night which helped that i think.
but the speech!!!!!!!!!! and discomfort was almost unbearable.......... but i am now glad to say a lot has improved since then so fortunately i am no different to everyone else............... for a while there i thought they just wouldn’t work for me, like i had a different mouth or something stupid!!!!

it will be tough in the beginning but if you do decide to go the lingual option i can guarantee it will get more comfortable as time goes on. i am only 2 weeks in and to be honest, its the lowers that annoy me more, if you can imagine it the linguals feel completely foreign at first and your tongue hates them being there taking up all the room but then after a while they just feels like your teeth and your tongue doesn’t care anymore if that makes sense........

mine cost in Australia $8.5 for lingual top and normal bottom.... i think that’s the typical cost around and while its a lot i am happy with it because now my teeth can straighten up and i can just relax and watch without brackets in the way!!!!!!!!

:)
