Tomorrow!

I'm going through the same thing in about seven weeks, so I feel for you. I'm getting more nervous by the day and can only advise you to do the same thing that I've been doing: keep thinking of how great it will be when your teeth are straight and remember that each day takes you closer to that. Also, remember that (as you can tell from all the people on this site) many other people have been through the same process and lived to tell. You'll be okay too.
Good luck! Let us know how it goes.
P.S. Apparently the application takes forever, so make sure you use the toilet first, especially if you are having both sets done at the same time. This may seem obvious, but if you're nervous it could be easy to forget...

how did it go, granite??
I am 24 days into treatment with ibraces. First week is not the easiest but it does get better. First week I lived on wax and almost no food. After a week no wax and almost all the food you would put in front of me. My lisp is barely there, water is the key. I have my first adjustment on tuesday. Cannot wait to hear about your experiences with ibraces.

The whole putting them on process was very easy - my ortho is great! She puts on ibraces on Fridays only and does 3-4 patients on that day. I was the only patient in there so there was no self-consiousness or too many people roaming around. There were 3 people who worked together to put mine on - I got tops and bottoms on. It was completely pain-free and they let me take a couple of breaks to walk around, use the restroom, etc. The ortho even gave me a Water Pik for free (although I guess I'm paying for it in the $8000 I'm giving her for the ibraces!). If anyone out there is looking for an ortho in Maine, I'd suggest mine.
I decided to take the day off and have 3 full days to get used to them. I didn't have any pain until Friday evening and then it was the dull achy feeling in all of my teeth which I had expected. I tried eating but wasn't really hungry and it didn't go well. I felt like my tongue was too big for my mouth with the ibraces on and adding food in there just wasn't happening. The next day I had a smoothie for breakfast and lunch and I had Indian food with my boyfriend which worked pretty well since it's pretty mushy. It was very strange trying to chew but over the past two days, I've gotten more comfortable. My speech was terrible the first three days - lispy - plus I normally talk really fast so I had to slow down a lot! Today is day 4 and my speech is much better not perfect but a huge improvement. The Rainbow Passage that my ortho gave me to get used to speaking helps a lot. I definitely suggest trying to take 3 days to get used to them. I don't think I'd have made it at work yesterday with my speech issues but today is manageable.
