Not everyone wearing labial/ "normal" braces needs elastics, and the same applies to linguals. As far as I understand it, elastics are often used to correct bite issues, for linguals, traditional braces and also for Invisalign (I know a couple of Invisalignees who had elastics at some point during their treatment).

However, if your question aims at whether YOU will have elastics, too, the only one who can answer that is your ortho...

My ortho told me that I won't be using elastics on me as he said adults are more inclined to not comply with them. :jump: I can imagine as will be embarrassing if having to do a talk at a meeting or dating! Instead he will be using TADs to correct my bite and alignment of teeth. So its practiacally invisible.

I had 2 elastics on one side and 1 on the right. Didn't have an issue wearing them as they actually made the brackets more comfortable on my tongue. You can't see them unless youre walking around with your mouth wide open all the time in which case people may think you have spaghetti stuck in your braces...
