Upper and lower ibraces-which was harder to adjust to?

#1 Post by Noellenoelle »

Hi there-I have had my lower ibraces on since August, and am getting the upper on Dec. 30th-I had to put off due to traveling, moving, etc..but I wanted people's opinions as far as which they thought was harder to adjust to? The lower were a bit rough for me in regards to eating, etc-but the talking thing was pretty much fixed in about one week, and NO ONE that I haven't told knows I have them on. Now with the uppers, is the speech affected more? I am sure everyone is different, but was curious to hear other's experiences.
Thanks for reading and I appreciate hearing from others.

Lowers for me were far more disruptive since that is where your tongue rests. I got my tops first, then the bottoms 6 weeks later.
I had my top arch wired for 3 years, 9 months, 3 weeks and 3 days with iBraces
I had my bottom arch wired for 3 years, 8 months, 1 week, and 4 days with iBraces

Hi there,

I got my lowers first and would say they were more difficult to get used to. The uppers are kind of more out of the way of my tongue so not as bad for me.
