Ceramics and LInguals

#1 Post by Frankie »

Hi there,

I have just had ceramics fitted on my bottom teeth and am going in a couple of days to have linguals on my upper teeth. My problem is just general crowding which has caused some teeth to buckle quite a lot.

Does anyone else have both kinds of braces?

Is there anything I need to be aware of / prepare for re the linguals? Am fine with the ceramics now that I am used to them.

Many thanks

Frankie

I am getting the exact same thing, I'm having my moulds done for the iBraces on Monday!

There are several people here who have the same thing and I think they all said positive things about the experience, apart from the iBraces taking a while to adjust to.

I am really scared about my speech being affected, so am consciously trying to place my tongue in different places when I talk, maybe it's madness but it might help huh?

Good luck and keep us updated!

Know exactly what you mean about speech etc. Am also a bit worried. Have taken three days off work this week to have a bit of time to get used to them and am also trying to work out what to do with my tongue! They are getting fitted today, so I will let you know how it feels later. All the very best with yours!

I'm really surprised. my braces are not incognito, but the other ones (TBS or something) and there is hardly any real discomfort at all. It feels really weird having all these extra things in your mouth but you get used to it really quick. Talking not a problem although there is a slight lisp but I think that will go very quickly. I'm using loads of wax on the back braces beause they rub against my tongue all the time, but it's really not bad at all.

TBH the ceramics are more uncomfortable than the linguals, which was not what I was expecting.

I haven't had the wires put on the linguals yet though, maybe that makes a big difference. Have another week to wait for that.

When are yours getting fitted?

Ah sounds good! How much did you pay for yours?

I had my moulds done today so I'm getting braces on the 1st of June! Glad everything is going well, are they STBs?

Yes - STB's!

I am paying about GBP5,000 for mine. I hope it's going to be worth it!
