Bleeding on surface of tooth. HELP.

#1 Post by perfectlystraight »

I am not sure if I should be posting this here, but I'm just hoping someone will be able to let me know what's going on.

I got my linguals off in June. Yay! About 4 days ago I started using the Crest Pro whitening strips once nightly. I leave them on for a half hour as per its instructions, however I noticed something very alarming when I finished with them tonight. There was a red dot on my upper right canine tooth. I tried to scrap it off, but it wouldn't disappear. I then took my tooth brush and it seems as though there is a hole on the surface of my tooth, and it's bleeding.

I have tried googling this, and nothing comes up. I mean, I don't necessarily think a tooth can bleed, but I swear I am not crazy. Mine is.

Any ideas as to what is causing this? Some think it is from the linguals, that they weakened the enamel, but it doesn't make sense since the linguals were on the back of my tooth and the "hole" is on the front. I mean, it's not a huge hole either, but it's certainly present and noticeable.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

I've never heard of such a thing before. I'd be freaked out too. Are you sure it's not your gum that's bleeding? Are you in any pain? Maybe the surface of your tooth is uneven and blood is sticking in a small indentation?? I would stop the Whitestrips and see your dentist ASAP.

Also post in the main metal mouth forum where more people will see this. I'm not sure this is related to linguals anyway.
