#1 Post by lisac01 »

Everyone at work is like, what's wrong with you!!!! Thank goodness I do not have any speaking engagements until Feb 2010, otherwise I would be screwed!

Eating is getting better, I just cut and swallow !

lisa, I can still only eat soft foods, just cut and swallow. Eating takes a long time. Does this get better over time? Gums feel a little swollen? Is this normal?

Hi Lisa - what kind of braces do you have? Are they Incognito/iBraces? I had a few problems with speech when I first got mine, but I soon adjusted. I have also found that my speech varies each time I get a wire change - I had real problems with one wire (it was on the bottom arch) and then as soon as it was changed I had no problems whatsoever! And eating gets much easier. Hope things get better for you soon.

Hi LB I have Ibraces. I have not had a wire change or adjustment yet. My speech is getting better but i would say I am only 75% there. I am not really chewing when I eat, which cannot be good for me.

Practice reading out loud for about an hour. That should get you speaking well more quickly.

I have the same issue going on. It gets even worse when I'm tired, my tongue gets lazy!
