Getting them tomorrow- scared!!
I'm getting my linguals tomorrow after work and i am getting very nervous, but im trying to have a positive attitute and not really think about it! I have to get 2 teeth removed later on, will my ortho put the wire on tomorrow?? if not, is it worst when the wire goes on?

best of lock for today
My guess is you will get a wire in sraight away. The brackets are very rough without the wire and ligatures. I have had mine for 6 days and have had no problems at all.

how are they?
Hi Katrina, I hope yesterday went well - please let us know how you got on?
linguals
Katrina Curious how your appointment went. As far as my experience, whenI got the uppers on 2 weeks ago, my speech was affected especially the s's. But it is getting better. I find reading out loud helps and drinking a lot of water. Overall, I am excited and have no regrets getting them and anxiusly await postive results.
Hi Everyone
My appointment took about an hour (including paperwork).Putting them on was painless. I took 2 advil right after they were put on. My speech is perfectly fine, nothing changed, no lisping. I had some chcken noodle soup last night for dinner and a cheese omlet and coffee this morning. I do not have any pain or discomfort, but I am definately aware they are there. I also havent tried to eat anyhting harder yet because I don't think I'm ready. My ortho said that I might feel discomfort today, so I am just planning on taking advil all day. I took off today and tomorrow from work, but as of right now I feel fine and could have gone to work. Hopefully, I won't be in pain later. Honestly, reading this website REALLY made me nervous and I even started breaking out in hives yesterday. I went into it thinking positive and saying to myself that these are just braces and it will be fine. I think this website needs more postive posts and people should post when they have an easy time with linguals to give other people hope and encourgament.

Hi Katrina,
It went well. Thanks for asking. Reading the forum and hearing feedback from people who had positive experiences sure helped.
I wasnt scared of the pain but more concerned about my speech. I dont have a lisp but when I talk...it sounds like I have a lazy tongue. Almost like I am slurring my words. Espcially when I try to talk fast. I hope it goes away
Nonetheless, I am still happy I got it done! I wanted braces for a couple years now but never had to courage to get it done. I dont think many people realized how self-conscious I was about my smile. Hopefully in 18 months, I can laugh without thinking twice about showing my teeth

Lingual braces
Hi Katrina,
I am getting upper and lower linguals in two weeks! I am very nervous, especially about the braces affecting my speech. I was encouraged that you did not lisp or have any speech problems. Could you tell me what type of linguals you have? Are they Incognito, or Stb, or Gac brackets? I am supposed to get the GAC brackets but can't find that much info about them.
Thanks for your help!!

Hey Katrina,
I'm getting my iBraces on tomorrow, both top and bottoms, and I've been extremely nervous about my speech (as many seem to be). I just want to thank y/ou for your positive posts because your right, the negative posts about the speech really freaked me out especially cuz I do a lot of singing. I'm really hoping I have a similar experience to yours.
I'm glad I'm finally getting this done. I refused to get braces as a child and for some reason my parents listened to me Although as it turns out just braces would not have sufficed. After wearing the iBraces for a year I have to get surgery on my jaw to move it forward so my teeth are aligned. I get major headaches now because of the alignment and ultimately this is the reason I'm getting them.
I do have one strange question for you (or anyone)...well I actually don't think it's strange, I just haven't seen anyone ask it yet. Do the braces effect kissing?? I've read that they can really tear up your tongue. What about other peoples tongues??
Thanks again!
