I had my lowers 7 weeks ago and my uppers only 1 week ago.
I have not written for a while, here is an update.
Speech.
At the beginning, immediately after having them on, I had the impression that they were worse than the lowers. Actually, the adaptation process was much shorter. I think it is probably because I feel more confident that I can make it, and I noticed that self-confidence is fundamental for me, and also because I can feel better when it is going to be bad, when I need water, and so on... Say, I can better control the whole thing. Also, a few sounds that were very difficult (e.g. the 'z') did not get worse. Pretty happy about this. Still, there are some situations in which I just cannot explain why I am not speaking that well. Say, sometimes, especially in the morning, it is simply more difficult than in other times. with apparently no special reason.
Eating.
This is worse. Because I had also those things that do not allow the two arches to touch. But I am improving. The pleasure of eating is a bit affected (it was also with lowers only). But I hope it will improve with habit.
The sore that I had at the beginning is almost gone now. I am also happy because it is really invisible and, since I have gaps, I was very much worried about this. It is amazing how invisible it is.
So, with ups and downs, I am on average pretty happy so far.
How are the other people that are also at the beginning of the path?

Today is the first day I've actually had a sore tongue on the right side. I think this is because I am eating more adventurously because the teeth aren't so tender and I think the brackets have moved slightly on that right side, aggravating the tongue more than it was at the start.
I do think that there are times in the day I struggle to speak, not sure if today it was because of the sore tongue and general laziness from speaking too much or if it is (call me crazy) the brackets moving slightly and throwing my speech off. S, Th and Z are a struggle today, but definitely not impossible.

Teefies, for me it is the same, sometimes it seems more difficult than other days. But whenever I have sore tongue, it is more difficult.
What helps me is washing my mouth with warm water with salt, in the evening. And if I feel not speaking well, if I can I try to speak less and try not to move the tongue too much in the mouth, to "rest it".

oh i havent got mine on yet! Im in Sydney Oz, apparently it takes 3 months for my moulds to be sent off to the U.S.
I was just told by my ortho about the screws i will need and elastics. The elastics will be so obvious, it sort of defeats the purpose of spending so much money hiding the braces with linguals!!
I know the screws (tads) are only temp, but still!!!!!!
