Hi, I had my lingual brace fitted last Monday - upper only.
First time (in well over 40 years!!) I've every been excited about going to the dentist.
I've been reading LOTS about talking difficulties - I am lisping lots & hoping this will soon go away!!!
But eating - well, getting a bit tired already of soft foods (just how many different meals can you make from weetabix!!), & beginning to crave for carrot sticks, celery & nuts already (quite happy to give up toffee & the crust off of bread). I can feel my bottom teeth sort of bouncing the wires - the dentist said this was okay - but I'm terrified of knocking the wires off!!
So, I'm being enthusiastic at the moment - let's hope it lasts!!

Congrats on getting braced! Don't worry, you'll be eating just about everything again soon. When I first got my linguals fitted my molars didn't touch so I had to live on mashed potato and fish that I could also mash for about a month! I was soon back to normal. And I can relate to that 'bouncing' of the wires - I also felt that initially. Eating with linguals will soon feel very normal.
