Thank youupthebracket wrote:Sounds like you're doing really well given you've only had them on for a few days. In my first week my speech was terrible and my tongue was really really sore, but it soon improved. (Incidentally I was surprised that you said wine made it worse, since alcohol always seemed to make it better for me!)
Well I managed to get back on track last night with my speech & was doing pretty good. Took me all day though to get there.
Woke up this morning & it seems to have stuck for now. But it comes & goes. Seems like I sometimes forget what to do with my tongue.
Sat at work at the moment & I def don't sound as bad as I did on Friday afternoon when I tried going without my wax.
I've spoken to a few customers & seemed ok. Sometimes it crept back but not to the stage I was at before.
Sometimes it sounds like I have a lisp mind convo & when I don't sound lispy I don't sound like me I don't think. I sound like I have braces if that makes sense or something in my mouth. I'm hoping this will go but I don't think i'll ever sound like me not until they come off
I'm suprised that alcohol made it better as alcohol makes you dehydrated.
I found my tongue was rubbing on my brackets more & was all cut up by the end of the night. I only had 3 glasses of wine too. I couldn't talk at the end of the night was far too painful & my tongue was just running wild lol.
Btw trying to answer as many calls as possible at work today as it's all practice & going to help. Plus it's about confidence.
