Wire loose on new lingual uppers!

#1 Post by hottpants »

I just got my lingual uppers put on this past Monday. My speech has been ok actually, but the first week has been impossible to eat even soft foods because I didn't realize how much I thrust my tongue against the back of my teeth-so my tongue has gotten all sore, especially at the sides/back because my bite is too narrow so the brackets are rubbing right up on my tongue. I don't even know how it's possible except maybe thru putting on so much wax, but my wire has already come loose out of the last bracket in the back on my right side!!!! (which is the side that is way narrow and smooshed against my tongue) My ortho is not open until Monday and it's not physically bothering me, but I know it's loose and I don;t know what to do. Is this normal? I can't really see how to maybe push it back in the bracket because it's in the back inside of my mouth. it's just kind of leaning against my bracket. A friend looked at both sides and said they both are flexible so maybe that's normal for it to be loose like that? I had braces 15 years ago as a teen but they were way different back then so I can't even compare these to those braces.

I am getting my lower damon 3's on in a week 1/2 so maybe it's fine to wait until then? Please let me know if anyone else has had this happen.
Thanks so much!
