Hi,
I have an overjet of approx 10mm. Has anyone had braces to fix this or is it surgery? Dentist advised that my lower jaw was back

Re: Overjet treatment question
Hi Clare
I am currently in Damon braces, for years I’ve had the hospital orthodontist wanting to brake my jaw and I felt that was very extreme.
When I started in January my overbite was a 12.5
When I returned 14 weeks later my overbite was down to an 8.
She hopes to get me down to a 7 and that’s without extractions but seeing this progress so early I’m hoping it may come down further. I have to wear elastics with my braces basically 24 hours a day, even to eat and sleep but honestly they are no problem and I forget they are in but this has been the driving force behind the overjet lowering.
I have noticed a significant difference with my bite and just as teethhave shifted.
